Stålberg Carpenter Axe

The Stålberg is a traditional carpenter axe developed for precision woodworking, shaping and detailed work with wood. Its long, straight cutting edge, thin profile and straight handle provide the control and accuracy needed when the quality of each cut matters. The straight cutting edge is well suited to hewing and shaping flat surfaces, while the hand notch allows you to grip close to the axe head when greater precision is required. In this position, the hand can be placed almost directly above the centre of the cutting edge, providing excellent control for detailed woodworking and carving. The straight American hickory handle complements the geometry of the head and provides a natural, controlled working position. The result is an axe that can move from more powerful shaping cuts to careful, precise work simply by changing the grip. The head is hand-forged at Hults Bruk and hand-sharpened before being fitted to its American hickory handle. Precise, controlled and purpose-built for working with wood, the Stålberg is a craftsman's axe in the traditional sense.
